Permanent Archival CollectionNAN has a permanent collection of contemporary (in the sense of this current time) needlework which is now housed at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is an ongoing and growing collection which began when NAN was part of the Valentine Museum. The NAN permanent Collection is composed of embroideries that are accessioned by the Board of Directors from candidates finishing Level II Teachers' Certification. This is the highest honor bestowed on a NAN candidate. Other embroideries in the permanent collection are donated by those finishing their Honors research. There are some additional donations, notably a lace collection given by the late Mary McMenamin. A small, changing part of the NAN collection is on display most of the time. You may visit the collection at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, but call 919.515.3102 for their hours. NAN is pleased to showcase a number of our pieces accessioned into our collection at the time of graduation. The Honors pieces will be found on the Honors page of the web site.
