Rapunzel
Blackwork patterns worked with DMC Stranded Cotton and
Floche on 22-count Hardanger. She is actually unbraiding
her hair.
The Princess and The Pea
Primarily Blackwork patterns with a
canopy of un-cut Hardanger.
Worked in DMC Stranded Cotton, #8 Perle
Coton, #13 Perle Coton, and #4 Kreinik Fine Braid on
22-count Hardanger.
Marjorie's Poem
Stitched with Au Ver a Soie Silk and Caron Waterlilies
on 40-count silk gauze. Encroaching Gobelin, French knots
and tent stitch.
Winner of ANG's Tish Holland Award for Inventive use
of a "found object." The seagull is from the
inside of a sand dollar.
From the Simple to the Sublime
Simple Hemstitching, progressing to complex bands,
interspersed with bands of reversible Blackwork patterns.
Stitched with 35/2 linen thread on 26-count linen.
Finished with a picot edging.
Individual Church Kneeler
designed for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Clemson,
South Carolina. Stitched with 3 strands of Appleton
crewel wool on 14-count Zweigart canvas.
Dragonfly on Lilypad Leaf
Hardanger with linen thread -- 35/2 and
80/2 -- stitched on 22-count linen Hardanger. Needlelace
patterns are incorporated with the needleweaving and
picots. The dragonfly is added after the pad in
completed.
Pulled Stitches Hummer
Eight different pulled stitch patterns chose to be
appropriate for the shapes, outlined with outline and
chain stitch. Stitched with 35/2 linen thread on 26-count
linen fabric.
Flower Pots
Tray insert and mini-pull
Stitch on 25-count OOE congress cloth
with DMC #5 and #8 Perle Coton and Caron Watercolours.
Five needle-lace fillings, an interlaced border,
embellish the Hardanger.
