This fan is a Phase II piece from the Japanese Embroidery Center. The techniques used include weft layer foundation, flax-leaf effect, tie-dye effect, vertical layer, line of held thread, round knots, horizontal layer, separated single layer, lattice holding, single central braid, diagonal layer, imitation wicker braided effect, and couching. Threads include Japanese flat silk and gold metallic.
