Seasonal Fan with Royal Carts by Diane Horschak

This is an adaptation of a Kurenai Kai design. My interpretation of this piece is that of a Seasonal Fan with Royal Carts. The challenge of this piece was trying to make all the colors work with the flowers, carts and fan on the gold fabric. The stitching is all done with Japanese Embroidery Silk and metallics and includes all traditional Japanese Embroidery techniques. The Japanese Embroidery Techniques include couched gold with couching, weft foundation layer, lattice holding, separated single layer and many more.
