Noshi by Peggy Lipski

Noshi (ribbons) is an adaptation of a Kurenai-Kai design worked on black shioze with Japanese flat silk and real gold threads. It was stitched as a challenge piece under the instructions of Shay Pendray and Diane Horschak. The piece encompasses several of the traditional Japanese Embroidery techniques, including couching gold threads, long and short, diagonal single layer and shippos to name a few.
