Lazy Lake by Anita G. McIntyre

I have a cottage near a lake up north. The area around it is heavily wooded. I love to watch the sun set through the trees. In the summer the sun sparkles through the lacey pattern made by the trees.

In beve handwerger’s class in 2009 we painted, stamped, melted and distorted all types of materials to stitch on. I ended up with a nice lacey material to stitch upon. I had painted it with blues and greens and stamped it with gold trees. It looked like a forest in a sunset. When I got it home I placed it upon pieces of foil and it looked like looking through the lake to the sunset. Then I stitched various types of needle lace and other stitches to continue the lacey forest effect. I like to stare at this piece and relax.
