Fantasy Remembered by Carol Sylvester

“Fantasy Remembered” is a now retired Group Correspondence Course from EGA. While stumpwork is one of my favorite styles of needlework, I had never used wool for this technique, just cotton and silk. It was interesting to try a new fiber in a familiar technique.

This was one of those designs that I fell in love with at first glance. To me, it invokes, hot lazy summer days, running through prairie and flushing out bugs galore. I also love the beautiful flow of the lines in the piece. I have its companion, “Summer Dream”, and someday hope to have them hanging side by side on my wall.
