Cherry Blossom Awakening by Anne Freiburger

When developing a stitch guide for this painted canvas by Julia’s Needlework, I felt it was important to make the tree the focal point while also providing balance in the other areas. I wanted to create texture and dimension with the stitches, thread and color choices. The colors are slightly more intense than the canvas paint. The sunrise shading in the sky was my choice to add. Silk perle, silk yarn, metallic braid, synthetic ribbon, linen and beads were used. I am very pleased with the end result. The framing choices, I believe enhance this dramatic piece.
