Surround Sound by beve handwerger

This piece has been in my head for years. It encompasses trips to Italy, Charleston, England and downtown Annapolis which all have historic houses – signified by the buttons. The streets have trees that are very old, some leaning – and all very colorful with many differences in their roofs. It is a very whimsical piece, which seems to be a new avenue for me.

Materials:
Canvas background: Gesso, paint-several layers, Stamping-several different stamp applications.
Handmade paper: Base and Trees, houses and roofs; Leaves-handmade and sandwiched leaves, muslin and Bondaweb. Stitching, found objects and buttons
