Gourd Ladies by Gail Sirna

From the very first time I saw Caela Tyler’s Gourd Ladies I knew they were a remarkable design. Caela has captured the spirit and design aesthetic of the southwest in her whimsical yet beautifully crafted dolls. Especially appealing are the embellishments: the feathers and the necklaces are what make the design sing.

A group of us gathered to take this class. The course demanded that we choose our own stitches, and so the Gourd Ladies became personalized, and demanded that we call upon our own design talents. They were great fun to do; the planning and the execution were most gratifying.
