Daisy by Rachel Watkins

The inspiration for this piece came from a child’s fairy book. I used stump work ‘slips’, beads, needle lace and felt padding to create the flowers and figure. The face, arms and legs were made from ultra suede, which I painted and padded to represent the flesh and facial features. The hands, flowers and leaves are ‘slips’, attached with wire to the satin ground fabric.
