Blackwork Flowers in Blue by Kathy Olex

This design was shown in the magazine using white thread on a dark blue background, giving it a lace-like effect. While I like the look, and have done it before, I was more in the mood for a traditional blackwork piece done with dark thread on a white background. It can be difficult to frame a blue piece so I was happy when I found the perfect blue frame. But something was missing so the addition of the silver liner made the piece come together exactly as I hoped.
