Arctic Santa by Debbie Stiehler

Arctic Santa was designed by Jean Taggart and is a class taught by Gail Sirna. I was able to teach this class for Gail at the Share-A-Stitch seminar June 2007. I did change several areas since I do not like to do Turkey Work. The cuffs of his sleeves and fur trim on his jacket are done in Bricked Gobelin instead of TW. The polar bear is done in Split Stitch as well as his beard. The fur on his hat is done in French Knots. Embellishments were changed too. Instead of using the silver chain to make a leash for the bear, I chose to use it on the robe and I switched the couched Japanese silver that was to be his staff to a 2mm silver torsade. I did teach the class as Gail and Jean had intended and made the changes to my piece after the seminar.
