Siren of the Sea by Rachel Watkins

As this imaginary figure descends to the sea floor she is wrapped in gold chains taken from shipwrecks. This picture is stitched in silk, metallic and floss threads on a raw silk ground fabric. The gold is couched with invisible thread; beads were used to give the impression of air bubbles rising to the surface of the ocean.
