Should Eyelet You See The Real Me or Knot? by Donna Halpin

Many of us hide behind a mask in different situations... sometimes a face of smiles hiding sorrow, or a face of strength hiding insecurities. The past year has brought challenges and opportunities, and as each of them were encountered, I had to ask myself...who is the real me...

This in turn offered an inspiration for the mask challenge and at the same time I was reading a book which provided further inspiration for using random eyelets in a garden scene. I toyed with ideas…rose garden mask, knot garden mask, something more direct, but then it dawned on me...why not use a play on words to convery one of the purposes of a mask….hiding the real person. Selecting an overdyed silk which may hold an as yet undefined subliminal message, I stitched the entire mask in a thread named "Dragon's Breath". As soon as I discover the "real me", eyelet you know!
