Lichen Fantasy by Linda Lee Mucha

My piece was inspired during a class at Callaway with Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn. They introduced the class to a new embellishing machine and during the class we felted various pieces of felt and fibers together.

When I found a piece of lichen that had fallen from a tree, I knew just what to do with those pieces we had worked on so diligently. With a lot more embellishing on the machine and manipulating the structure, the piece began to resemble my treasure from the forest. I added beads for a hint of sparkling dew to finish the piece.)
