Stella-A Witch With Attitude by Jacqui Clarkson
My friend and I who live in a different state and I ‘stitch together’ on Wednesday nights. We do this by chatting via e-mail as to what we got accomplished, any difficulties, etc. This works well for us as we have MANY projects that are the same. When I saw the witch advertised in a needlework shop newsletter, I chatted with my friend that we needed to do this. Her reply was, “I already have the canvas by TS Designs”. No more was needed to be said, we gathered all the threads we thought would work on the canvas and because we were having time together, had a thread orgy to decide what we would use. Using a photo of the finished piece and what we thought was used in the finished piece, we returned to our homes to get started. Well, I just had the best time as the pieces are relatively small and so doable to stitch within a short period of time. I finished my stitching and sent it off to my finisher with the photo and instructions that I really do care a lot for purple hair, green-faced witches. When it returned, it needed to have a bit of tweeking in the arms and legs and then sat on my table for the next couple of days. She made us smile and truly did take on attitude. Stella had arrived! The name, who knows why, but it seemed to work well. Stella has traveled internationally and has picked up a couple of ribbons in the ‘doll’ category. This has only added to her attitude. Hopefully she will make you smile as well.
