Pieces of Africa-Serengeti Sky by Toni Gerdes

This was a fun piece to stitch. The four diamonds on this piece, to me, represent African folklore shields. In addition to the threads used above, I used seed beads, bugle beads, and one 3mm Gray Iris bead. I changed all the colors from the original piece to my own choices in blues and greens to represent the intense colors of the Serengeti. The Fern stitch in this piece uses ten different threads and is a challenging step with a very interesting effect.
