Out of the Box by Cathe B. McEnerne

Inspired by classic and contemporary goldwork techniques, I designed this piece within the context of Meredith Barnhill’s “Exploring Goldwork” class. While the class explored the ways and techniques of traditional English Goldwork, I explored creating a non-traditional design from the same class materials. Ultimately, I explored my stash as well adding fabric, beads, imitation Japan Gold and Facets to the purls, bullions and spangles that we had used in the class. My first non-traditional work, it seemed only fitting to title it “Out of the Box”!
