Fidelity by Marion Scoular

Ivy is the symbol for Fidelity.

In stitching a spray of ivy for a teaching project, with only implied outlines for the leaves, I wanted to challenge the student to be creative in the choice of patterns. Employing the Assisi concept for the lower leaf gives an opportunity for shading.

Blackwork patterns are stitched on 25 count Lugana, using D.M.C. stranded cotton with a touch of Kreinik’s #4 very fine braid
