Something Blue by Sheila Ary

An old handkerchief, borrowed from my husband, and colored with blue and green in a fabric painting class many years ago, now made new with embroidered decoration. This was one of those pieces of fabric that we all have, which was waiting for the right inspiration to become a finished piece. I used a fine Balger cord and #12 perle cotton, whose fine, tight, twist was appropriate for the delicate feel that I wanted. Only three stitches are used, stem stitch, detached chain stitch and back-to-back knotted buttonhole to make the ferns.
