Heart to Heart by Judi DiCarlo

This piece was designed by Terry Gifford and titled "Patchwork Hearts". I call my piece "Heart to Heart" because I have stitched this piece in honor of the anniversary of my heart attack and heart surgery.

The piece was a one-day class taught in my chapter by one of the members. Terry gave us suggested arrangements for placement of the squares. I chose to arrange the patchwork squares in this way in my design and the choice of stitches to use and placement were my choice.

The stitches used were Amadeus, Backstitch, Bargello Patterns, Crescents, Crows Foot, Diamond Van Dyke Corner, Diamond Van Dyke Stitch, Eyelet (modified and regular), Fern Heart, Jessicas, Long Stitches, Mini-Waffle, Outline, Plaited Rays Heart, Log Cabin Quilt Style Heart, Smyrna Cross, Sprats Hand Heart and Waffle Heart. The colors were mirrored on both sides.

Alternative color schemes were included. I chose colors that were specific for the color scheme of my bathroom at the ocean. The threads used were: #8 braid medium, #12 braid light, DMC Perle #5 Splendor, Impressions, Grandeur, Overdyed Silk and Light and Dark Mill Hill Seed Beads.
