Generations by Deanna Funk

Generations are held together by blocks of tradition. The strong center in the circle of love is shown in turmoil as it is being pulled in different directions by the demands of the past and by the insensitivity of the young, each in their own way, chipping away tradition.

Generations is made with embroidery threads, commercial fabric, painted, stamped and dyed fabric, painted Wonder-Under, overdyed sheers and beads. The rust silk was naturally dyed with potassium permanganate. The other silks were colored with procion and Miyako dyes.
