Evening at the Ritz by Becky L. Worsham
Design by Caela Conn Tyler

My "Evening at The Ritz" purse is very different than the purse that was presented in class last Spring. I have changed colors, most of the threads, and about two–thirds of the patterned bands. The threads used are silks, metallics, Kreiniks, Bijoux, and Highlights which are enhanced with various beads and crystals. I used a wide variety of stitches to create the patterned bands, but found the execution of the feathers to be the most challenging "stitch" to complete.

The handles are fashioned of large black vintage beads, along with other beads and findings. The purse was finished by Marlene of Marlene’s Needlepoint Finishing in San Francisco. I believe that she did a fabulous job.

This purse has been a great learning piece that truly increased my knowledge of both design and technique. Thank you to NAN and Caela for the opportunity to take this class.
