A Child's Passover by beve s. handwerger

Means and Method:

  1. The design background is linen and was painted by my granddaughter.
  2. The paper was selected using the colors Casey had painted. The papers were backed with Wonder Under and applied to the painted linen.
  3. The tablecloth (table) was then stitched in random Satin stitches, again following the lines Casey had painted on the linen.
  4. The lettering was then stitched in using a combination of random Satin stitches and Outline/Stem stitches.
  5. The figures were then cut out, backed with Wonder Under, padded with felt and appliquéd to the linen. The two figures – the mother and daughter – I added; they were not painted on the linen. The boys figure was painted on by Casey.
  6. The figures were then stitched using the same stitches as above and Chain stitch and the hair was added.
  7. The seder plate was applied with Wonder Under and then stitched.
