Triple Treat by Debbie Stiehler

This is another whimsical design but with many areas of serious stitching. Each scoop of ice cream is made up of five segments of different Florentine patterns. The design is stitched on ivory Congress Cloth using metallic, rayon, cotton, nylon, silk and wool. Gathering Rachel onto a base thread creates the fluffy "ice cream" at the bottom of each scoop. The entire cone is surrounding a brass pole, which is attached to a wooden base for stability. The cherry on top is a thread wrapped wooden ball and hides the top of the pole. The ice cream flavors are strawberry, mint chocolate chip and French vanilla topped with rainbow sprinkles and a fat red cherry! There are 16 different stitch patterns in this design.

The purpose of the piece is to create a smile on the face of the people who view it.
