Fall Foliage by Judy Kotick

"Fall Foliage" was designed and taught by Judy Souliotis. Judy’s purpose for this class was to create a dimensional study using a layering technique. We were encouraged to decide which trees we wanted to emphasize in the foreground and background through color choices and density of stitches. We were able to choose threads, thread colors, and different stitches to be used on each tree. All branches and leaves were free from although we worked from a photo of Judy’s piece. Having never worked on silk gauze, I found it much easier than anticipated. I thoroughly enjoyed the class, the teacher and the project.
