Canterbury Bell Fairy by Antoinette Morris

"Canterbury Bell Fairy" is an embroidery adaptation of the artwork of Cecily Mary Barker from her Flower Fairy Series. A Needle Painting technique was used on a fine piece of Irish Linen with an approximate count of 28-32. The threads are DMC and Anchor embroidery silks and a DMC Metallic machine embroidery thread in addition to a gold finishing cord.

To best interpret the design, I collect all the shades and regard the discontinued colors as "gold" because this gives me extra shades with which to work.

I really enjoy choosing and mixing the colors and the challenge of achieving an artistic rendering through Needle Painting.
