Tide Pool by Pam Godderis

The beaches on the west coast of Vancouver Island are abundant with tide pools and provide infinite inspiration. Multiple photographs I had taken while beachcombing provided the visual input required to create this piece. Both hand and machine embroidery were used with a variety of mixed media techniques (painted fusible webbing, machine embroidery on water soluble fabric, puff paint, acrylic paint, cellophane melted with an iron and attached found objects).
