Every fall afternoon that I walked through the woods at sunset, the trees were alive with vivid colors. In the spring as lichen began to emerge it grew until, at fall, it took on these same vivid colors. Through the spring into the fall, the lichen grew in various patterns, becoming a textural delight. This piece is a microcosmic display of nature’s shapes, line, color and contrast. This is an exciting experience of sunsets that change through the year and I wanted to share my personal feelings.
