32-count natural Belfast linen is the ground for this sampler designed by Catherine Theron. Cotton floss was used throughout, except for the sheep which was stitched with Medici wool. The little girl’s hair colour was changed to that of my daughter, Hannah. The queen stitches were not pulled tight, as to give a more solid appearance to the flowers. Other stitches include: cross, herringbone, satin, cushion, and French knots. This sampler was framed under glass in keeping with the style of antiqued samplers.
