    March 1 - 5, 2013
    Troy, MI

NAN's Assembly for Embroiderers is a needlework seminar, open to all stitchers, not just those aspiring to become teachers and judges. We offer an interesting array of classes each year, ranging from canvaswork, surface embroidery, various counted thread techniques, color and design classes, art classes pertinent to the needlearts, and Japanese Embroidery taught by the incomparable Shay Pendray.

The 2013 Assembly begins Friday, March 1 with a welcome dinner where you will be greeted by NAN Board Members and featured teachers. Classes are held Saturday through Tuesday, and may be 2 or 4 days in length. During your time at Assembly you will enjoy two lunches with your fellow attendees, and on Monday evening a festive Awards Banquet will be held. NAN also features a fun Merchandise Night during Assembly.

This year’s Assembly venue is The Somerset Inn in Troy, MI. To register with the Special NAN rate, visit www.somersetinn.com

A Rare Opportunity for 2013 Assembly Attendees

NAN attendees are invited to arrive day early to visit the home and studio of renowned needleartist, Shay Pendray. Her home, in nearby Bloomfield Hills, is one of the few residences in the United States where the entire decor is lavishly appointed with embroidery, particularly Japanese embroidery, and other Asian needleart. Many of Shay's finest works are on display.

You will see Shay's peaceful Japanese courtyard, and her fine 12 panel screen of double sided embroidery, plus her delightful studio. And, as a counterpoint, Shay's home also includes a cowboy room.

Our tour will depart the Somerset Inn at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 1. It includes lunch at a local restaurant. Space is limited. Cost is $50.
